Show HN: A Visual, Searchable Resume Grid for Developers

Hacker News - Sun, 04/27/2025 - 3:54am

Hi HN!

We launched 10000resumes.com as a fun, visual alternative for developers to showcase their skills, roles, and social links in a grid format (inspired by the Million Dollar Homepage). Since our last post, we’ve added:

Search functionality: Highlight profiles in real-time by skill, role, or name. Price drop to $0.19/spot: To reduce spam (free grids risked low-quality entries). Why repost?

Previous posts were flagged for criticizing LinkedIn (lesson learned! ). We’re not here to bash platforms—just offer a quirky, browsable space for devs. Feedback drove major updates: search, pricing tweaks, and clearer moderation. Check it out, grab a spot, or just play with the search feature. Would love your thoughts on how to improve!

—— Key Replies to Address Feedback:

“LinkedIn isn’t boring if you curate it!” → Totally agree! This is just a creative supplement, not a replacement. “Scammy vibes?” → We’ve added refunds, clearer guidelines, and manual spam checks. No shady stuff—just a passion project. Why $0.19? → Cheap enough to be accessible, priced to deter bots. Open to suggestions!

Show HN: WinMon – A Lightweight Process Monitor for Windows in Rust

Hacker News - Sun, 04/27/2025 - 3:19am

Hi guys,

I’ve always liked the Windows Sysinternals tools, so I decided to reimplement pslist as a small learning project. Ended up using the windows-rs crate and I found that very pleasant to use.

While most of the code is inside unsafe blocks, I really liked how the code ended up being!

Stoic Indifferents vs. Embodied AI

Hacker News - Sun, 04/27/2025 - 3:19am

Stoics concept of Indifferents sees externals as neither good nor bad. The example of a knife, used for meat or murder, has no intrinsic good or bad.

However, the Stoics view might change if embodied AI exists, e.g. in a robot. Now externals have "agency" and possibly have an intrinsic good or bad.

Robots with agency is going to have an interesting impact on philosophy.
