Ask HN: What Backup Triage system do you use?

How do you triage personal information and documents for various tiers of archiving and retention?

I'm considering a person information system backup and retention system. Classic backup strategies like 3,2,1 (3 backups, 2 different types of media, 1 offsite) make sense, but how much is reasonable to store to really try and keep no matter what? 100MB, 1GB, 1TB?

A year ago I build makemap.co with a friend. It is a Next.js page leveraging supabase and stripe in the background.

I am keen to hear your feedback on the site, design, wording, or anything else. We are also thinking of expanding the product suite into a full heatmap or printing on mugs and shirts.

How do I reach out to the board about our CEO?

I work for a small startup (~1.5mm revenue, <10 employees) that is slowly spinning out due to employee and customer churn. Sales are still growing, but growth peaked about six months ago and churn is annihilating our sales growth. Within the last two weeks, one of our first hires and our key employee have announced their departure.

I am a minor cofounder (14% equity). I head our sales efforts, but took it upon myself to reach out to these employees to do an exit interview on my own. Each of them had very similar feedback - unrealistic and unclear job expectations, a lack of alignment between priorities and resources, no clear vision, flavor of the month leadership, communication breakdowns, etc. They point to something that I have known for a while now - despite our huge successes on the sales and product side, we have outgrown our CEO and it has begun to severely impact our ability to survive and grow as a company. This feedback has been shared repeatedly by myself and the other co-founder with the CEO, but he gets very defensive over the feedback and doesn't work to implement any changes.

From here, I am not sure what to do. I have enough equity in the company that I can't just walk away, but I am not necessarily comfortable reaching out to the board on this without a clear objective in mind (besides "find a new CEO"). Our current projections is that revenue with continue to grow into Q1, and then peak before the end of Q2 and start to level off or even drop considerably, and our "key" employee (operations, support, marketing) has informed me that two others (nearly 50% of the company total) plan to leave before the end of the year.

We two very involved investors on the board who I communicate with time to time. The others are hand-picked by the CEO.
