Show HN: I built your next webapp, monitoring, and CI/CD for you, on your stack

Hacker News - Wed, 09/18/2024 - 10:16am

I got sick of:

- Re-writing the same Terraform for the same common AWS infrastructure

- Re-writing the same Rails code to build the same webapp

- Re-configuring the same monitoring systems & CI/CD pipelines

- Spending a week in dependency & configuration hell wiring it all together

When I was launching my first two startups, I wished I had a strong starting point with all of the best practices & technology configured out-of-the-box.

Every tool I found wanted to lock me in to some PaaS provider (that might not even exist in a year) who wanted to take a premium on my infrastructure spend every month. All I wanted was some strong starter code, a working system, and total freedom from there.

I made Launchpad Stack so engineers like me can stop reassembling the wheel. No platform lock-in, no monthly payments, no license restrictions. It’s your code, your business, and you can launch it today.

I would love your feedback!

Show HN: An open source Zapier, automations made simple

Hacker News - Wed, 09/18/2024 - 10:11am

Howdy HN! I'm Lars, one of the founders @ SVVARM, a platform hoping to bring the power of AI and automation to everyone!

Over the last few years, I have witnessed how complicated, convoluted, and costly automation solutions have become. Around 90% of users on Zapier have some form of developer experience, making it very developer oriented. It can often take days and a lot of trial and error just trying to get any automations up and running.

SVVARM hopes to alleviate some of the main problems that are core to those looking to automate:

- Generating automations with natural language prompting

- Exposing these automations with simple to set up triggers (email, message, slack, or API calls)

- Connecting to all your apps with a click of a button or a paste of an API key

- Enabling your automations with tabular data from spreadsheets or databases

- Allowing for customizable nodes that can be written in Python (or using code generated by AI)

Right now, SVVARM is only available via our online offering (waitlisted, but free). We hope to bring the engine to open source as soon as possible. Check out the video of our HackerNews Report demo on our Github! Or try sending your resume to svvarmbot@gmail.com with the subject 'Resume' to see one of our automations in action!

Let us know what you want to see more of, and if you have any feedback or roasts, please don't hesitate to drop them below!

Track Developer Productivity via Deep Work?

Hacker News - Wed, 09/18/2024 - 9:22am

I've seen lots of research and conversation around "tracking developer productivity" bring up deep work or flow state as a good metric to track in developer teams.

What word your thoughts be on a product that helps you do this for your team?
