Show HN: I build a FullStack boilerplate to ship my projects faster

Hacker News - Fri, 11/08/2024 - 6:10pm

Every time I start a new project, it’s the same drill: setting up authentication, routing, databases, UI, etc. Sound familiar? I wasted 10+ hours on the same repetative setup.

So I built Getstart, a SaaS-ready framework with everything you need to go from zero to launch—fast. It’s all here: NextAuth for easy auth Prisma + MongoDB for scalable databases Next.js API routes pre-built Nodemailer for emails Razorpay for both domestic and international payments Tailwind and Shadcn for sleek and customizable UI

Let me know what you guys think and what can be improved

IFF Google Chrome history censored on Chrome Version 130.0.6723.117

Hacker News - Fri, 11/08/2024 - 5:54pm

Looks like Google Chrome decided to censor the history of your own local browser, to reproduce go to chrome://history and then scroll down to 14+ days from today and search for that, it will not show. This isn't a case for IFF Internet Freedom Foundation, right?

Ask HN: What Statistical Models or Classifiers Are Used to Call Election Races?

Hacker News - Fri, 11/08/2024 - 5:50pm

TV & Online News likes to call election races when "60% of precincts are reporting". What specific probabilistic /statistical models and/or classifiers are used to determine this prediction? And what parameters vary among publishers such that Fox, NYT, Newspapers and Online Publications vary so much in calling races?

Show HN: Perfect Gifts

Hacker News - Fri, 11/08/2024 - 5:45pm

Hey everyone,

I used to go out looking for gift ideas for my parents, girlfriend, and some family members. But during busy seasons, I’d often check online for ideas and still struggle to find the right gifts, which meant going out to buy them anyway. So, I built a simple gift ideas generator that also suggests where to buy them.

You just input details about the person you want to gift— the more detailed, the better— and you’ll get a list of 20 gift ideas with links to where you can buy them on Google.

It’s a simple tool, but I’d appreciate any feedback!

Show HN: test if your browser supports WebGPU

Hacker News - Fri, 11/08/2024 - 5:42pm

I took a look at how WebGPU works, you can use it to run a Twin Prime Search (pretty slowly). It's just a demonstration of the technology.

Let me know if it works on your browser.
